Condition your beard.

The 3 minutes this will add to your shower routine could just lead to 2x that in make-out time.

6 minute make-out?! Say WHHHAT?!

Okay, I know that’s not impressive. I don’t really know if women will make-out with you longer; I really just want a much softer experience. Kissing a guy with a beard can be really rough, usually when its shorter–the ‘scruff’. Now I know I sound like a baby right now but seriously, the red, rash-like spot it leaves on my chin can’t be all that attractive to look at either.

A friend of mine compared kissing a bearded guy to kissing “that metal thing … Continue Reading

toDIYfor – Faux Fur Vest

Screen Shot 2016-01-20 at 12.35.09 PM

After watching The Revenant this weekend.. I feel like I need to wear this vest 24/7.

I had no idea what I was doing when I started this–but it turned out pretty good eh? The best part is…it cost me about $10 to make. There were some serious deals going on a Fabricland. I couldn’t resist.

WARNING. If you plan on having guests over in the near future–do not attempt this DIY…unless you don’t care if people think you’re a crazy cat lady. There was fur EVERYWHERE.

Since I don’t own a lint roller, I resorted to using stupid amounts of packaging tape in an attempt to rid my clothing of the copious amounts of hair I was covered in–it kind of worked.

Check out the tutorial here.

Making good decisions

We all like to think we make good decisions, but let’s face it–you have a few drinks and logic is thrown out the window.

I went to the Wine and Food show in London with some girlfriends last weekend. The night began with me catching up with friends and ended with me waking up in last nights outfit, with a dead cell phone and stranded 20 minutes away from my car. Here’s how I got from point A to point B.

toDIYfor – Lace Trim Sweater & Ribbon Back Dress

Screen Shot 2015-12-23 at 9.31.38 PM

I’m super lazy and love fabric glue. If you do too, you should check out this DIY.

In about 10 minutes I transformed a simple sweater and black dress into two ‘classier’ items.

Don’t believe me? Check it out here.

Indoor Voice

Something I don’t have.

I’ve been told on a number of occasions I am loud. It’s usually my brother Adam who says it to me. When I have a few drinks it gets worse.

I’ve always chopped it up to the fact that I’m on the radio–so I naturally project my voice more than most. At least thats the excuse I always give.

A stranger called me out on it this weekend–it got awkward.  … Continue Reading

toDIYfor – Holiday Decor

Well it was 13 degrees in Niagara today and somehow Christmas is 15 days away. I still live in Canada right?

I’ll take it. Mother Nature is guaranteed going to be a jerk in January/February.

If you haven’t started to decorate yet because even window shopping right now stresses your wallet out; I made this entire display after a quick trip to the dollar store.

Sure, I could have bought a can of glitter spray paint and saved myself an hour and the huge mess…but it was like $12. Too much for me.

Be prepared to find glitter in every crevice for the next 3 weeks.

Check out the video here.

My roommate throws out whole chickens

What a waste–right?

Okay, well she does eat some of it.

So the other day while she was unloading her groceries, I popped out of my room to catch up. It just so happened to be around super time. She had bought one of those pre-roasted whole chickens and was cutting some up for dinner and packing some away for her lunch. Then she asks: “Have you eaten? Do you like the drum stick?”

I hadn’t, but said: “Thanks but thats okay, I can make something.”

She then proceeds to tell me she doesn’t like the drum stick–she doesn’t like ANY dark meat. She just planned on throwing it out.

toDIYfor – Blanket Poncho & Mitts

Screen Shot 2015-12-03 at 8.48.19 PM

I won’t lie. The biggest reason I want you to watch this right now is because the bloopers are great. You can thank my sister for that one.

On top of that, these are both really easy–and it’s starting to get hella cold out there, so why not?

You can literally make the poncho in 5 mins and it’s ultra cozy. I mean you’re essentially wearing a blanket–and it looks way better than a damn snuggie.

You don’t even need to sew when making the mitts. I used a hot glue gun. You can hot glue anything. It’s magic.

Check it out here.

That tiny cut turned my bed into the Red Wedding

Can you even see the cut on my elbow?

Looks like a paper cut or something, right? Well I’d love to say–yes–that’s what it is. But the truth is, I have NO idea.

Here’s how it went down.

While getting ready for work quickly this morning I looked over at my bed and saw what looked like some blood on my sheets. Hmmm thats strange. Then I flipped my comforter over and saw THIS. … Continue Reading

toDIYfor – Old Man Sweaters into Pretty Things

Screen Shot 2015-11-13 at 12.50.53 PM

Grab some scissors and start cutting that sweater you’re wearing off!

Go raid your Dad’s/Grandpa’s closet, grab a hot glue gun, and a cardboard box.

If you don’t have a cardboard box…hit up the LCBO. They always have a ton. You might as well pick up a bottle of wine to drink while you make your DIY.

So I’ll show you how to make … Continue Reading
